About Me

Hello!

I’m Sydney, and I am a writer, actress, and storyteller. I have been known to carry a book in my hand at all times. I am enthralled by the romance and charm of old movies, especially Audrey Hepburn films. I love fashion and style, and I enjoy putting together outfits and looks. I am a city girl, and my weekends are often spent exploring and experiencing the city.

Above all else, I am a storyteller, and my loves, hobbies, and dreams are encapsulated in this truth. Much of my life has centered around stories, both real and imagined. I am constantly mulling over moments, feelings, and experiences until they eventually make their way onto paper; into a character or narrative. I tell these stories through both writing and acting, the two areas that I am most passionate about.

I believe that stories exist in everything and everyone, and they may present themselves in the form of places, people, writing, style, or interactions.

I find joy in the little moments – listening to a record spin and pop as I watch the sun set over the city, lazy Sunday mornings in slippers, long car trips in the middle of the night, walking past a café at sundown, becoming so invested in a movie that you forget who and where you are. There are times when I create these moments for myself, and there are times when I allow them to wash over me unexpectedly. Life is made up of those moments.

I believe storytelling isn’t so much about living in an imaginary world, but instead it is about being fully present and allowing yourself to be raw and vulnerable in the world that you have been placed in. I take real feelings and observations and funnel them into stories, working to understand people and experiences and using them as inspiration, sharing my reflections with those around me.

I find inspiration in words, moments, and people. I find passionate people the most inspiring; people who love what they do and are innovative and hardworking. I try my best to seek those people out and surround myself with them.

Finally, I believe that storytelling is about restoring understanding and empathy. If I can do so, even in a small capacity, then I feel fulfilled. It is an art that is needed now more than ever.
